I'm trying out ConceptDraw, and want to use it for doing some database ERD diagramming. So I opened the ERD shape library, and drag a table shape into the document. The shape comes in tall and skinny, and I'm not able to resize it! The handles only allow moving the shape, not resizing it, and if I open the Geometry inspector and click on the geometry icon, the width and height are grayed out and can't be changed. I've tried grouping the shape and other weird things, but to no avail. This isn't very useful of course, so I'm hoping someone here can explain how to work with these shapes?
Thanks very much.

I'm wondering if anyone on the community require a feature for cross-browser dependencies.

We are an open source software development company and it is often the case that a specific resource HAS TO be available across projects for doing specific things.

From the Resource Usage view, thus, I would like to be able to assign, priorities of completing work, by Creating Dependencies, instead of manually entering dates.

Do other people on the list feel this is required?
Thanks,

The icons displayed in the libraries are shown in the wrong colours. When I drag to the page they appear correctly, but it is not acceptable to have to drag first to be able to see the graphics correctly. The wrong colours seem to be like a photographic negative, but I'm not sure what the crossovers are really.

As attachments don't seem to work I can't send a screen shot (I tried).

Does anyboday else experience this problem? Are there any solutions for it?
I use a PowerBook G4 867 MHz with Mac OS 10.4.11.

Hi,

We're new users of ConceptDraw Project, and while planning, here are some things that I would think would be important for us as Managers, to improve our efficiency with ConcptDraw Project:

1. When I enter two or more tasks, under a parent task, and assign to the same Resource, my approach would be that this should by default become "Finish-To-Start" predecessor-tasks. This would help in cutting down on the long process of defining each task as predecessor.

2. From the Resource Usage view itself a Manager should be able to change dates of a task in the case of over-booking of a Resource. Currently I have to go back to that specific project view and change the dates, and in that view I have no reference of what dates the clash is on. I am not sure whether more Managers on this community would feel the same or no.

3. Seamless integration with ConceptDraw Map is a fantastic idea. The complete planning of a project, including the visualisation of the Critical path of the project somehow must be done in ConceptDraw Map, and then brought into seamlessly into ConceptDraw Project. This will provide a beautiful way of planning a project for managers. (I believe the seamless integration is already under development)

Thanks,

Hi,

When I export from Concept Draw to MS-Project XML for All Projects - and - then re-import, it creates one Project only, and has all project names listed as parent Tasks. See attached graphic:

While Exporting, I had the project CMT open, and I choose the option "All Projects". When I re-import, it put one project tab - CMT, and listed all the projects as Tasks under this project-tab.

However, if I export and import one-project at a time, then it works fine.

This seems to be abug in ConceptDraw Project.

Thanks,
I used MicroPlanner for many years and that allowed that exact process.

For me as a project manager in the entertainment industry it seems to make more sense to look at the project milestone (ie. the curtain rise) and then try and figure out what would stop this happening and work backwards.

I.e can the curtain go up? > (Is the audience all in? Is everyone ready?)

going further backwards:
Is everyone ready? ; sound? Lights? stage hands? Actors? etc . You can see where this goes.

In this world it makes for sense to run everything to start as late as possible (or to start as early as possibile but after a start time).

So what do you all think? Any one else plan like this?

I've just noticed that, in the .xml file created by exporting a project in CD Project, there is no data about the text we have entered in the "notes" tab of a task... Is this data lost during the export? Or maybe I haven't found it in the xml because it has another name?

Thanks for helping :)
