Two things.
Where do i find an overview documnet that helps me understand the basics, i have a free version on V2.
From 1 hour of playing i can't get predecessors to work properly. I seem unable to determine which task i link to which it always gives me the sam task as the predcessor. How can i link tasks?

And if this will not help: you always can look through the sample files in the ConceptDraw Project drawer! Or ask specific questions in this forum!

There are 3 ways I use:
1. mark 2 lines and use the link buttom on the menu bar
2. mark the 1. item to be linked, bring the mouse on top of the bar in the gantt chart, hold the mouse click and drag it onto the 2. item to be linked.
3. mark the target task, hit (apple)+(u) to go into the predecessor window and initialize a new link.

but time saving will be 1 and 2 :-)

Much appreciated. So whats the difference between linking and using predecessers. Linking seems to give you more flex whilst predecessers is just the last item you entered?

basically its the same... its just another way to do linking.

Sample 1:
If you do linking by mouse, do select the second task and press <apple>+<u> to enter the predecessor window. Now you can specify the kind of link you want to lay and edit the link to the predecessor task.

Sample 2:
Redo the link above and just select the second task to be linked and press <apple>+<u>. Now you can create a link by naming the predecessor to this task.

You see, its really the same. for instance, I use the predecessor window every time, when I have to link task very far apart from each other. Otherwise I do my linking by mouse and edit the link in the predecessor window if necessary :-)

But may be one day there will be another part in the inspector, where we can edit our linking! Would be a great idea... what do you think?
