danilsomsikov Wrote:Could you please explain it in a bit more details. Do you suppose to previously setup a presentation (nodes opening order and whatever else), and then show it step by step, or you're planning to expand nodes by clicking on them as it is in attached flash presentation?
Yes what I want is that only the presentation main idea should be visible with the nodes> then as I discuss each node I open them 1by1
Example:
Main concept
.........sub category (which may have 100s of topics)
...................sub division of the category (which may have 1000s of topics) each topic may have some notes too.
In such a scenario when static jpeg is exported showing all the open nodes it looks too cluttered & very confusing, power point helps to export slides 1by1 but in that case the viewer soon looses the direction which topic belong to what category.
danilsomsikov Wrote:In the latter case, will presentation mode in ConceptDraw MINDMAP, allowing you to temporarily hide all toolbars ad other auxiliary stuff, be a suitable solution?
No a big no!
for a simple reason, It means that any viewer who wants to see the presentation has to have Mindmap installed which is not going to happen. A free Conceptdraw viewer (full screen) like MS powerpoint viewer still be a better option, it should let user click the nodes to open & close/ zoom in/out take notes & mail back to the owner/author of the idea so the author can take these into consideration & add/subtract them from the presentation.
The presentation mode will be a welcome change but still limited that user will have to download & install the viewer, users in corporate environment having no admin rights so they cant install on their own.
Best is to have platform independent technology such as java/flash as seen & implemented in the urls I posted earlier, the good thing is then I can either email them the exported html files or host them on a server. My 1st preference would be flash its quite feature rich, I am not much aware about java.

Thank you for you ideas and explanation. We'll keep them in mind while working on new version.
Hello conceptdraw team!
Mindmap is indeed a great application! To be honest, the first thing I was looking for was shortcut support. Luckily I found this thread here: It's already very helpful, what you propose as shortcuts, but I think it might be slightly more visible and more complete.
1) I'd love to see every tool available in the toolbox to have its own shortcut.
2) And one of the simplest ways to remember those shortcuts, would be, if the user remains with the cursor on a Tool-button, a help text is displayed together with the corresponding shortcut (such as it is done in Photoshop for example...)
Mat
Hi Mat,
This very good idea, thank you. I think we'll see it in the next release.
Hello everybody!
Danil, what about ability to add two or more links to topic? For example link to topic & URL at the same time?
P.S. Is there any approximate estimate of next version's release date?
Hello novarg,
Works on multihyperlinks are already planned and partly done. Multiple hyperlinks are also expected in the next release.

so next spring will be the big day :-)
one feature is still missing: if you mark a topic in an interactive format or in ConceptDraw MindMap/Viewer, the rest of the map could fade out or get smaler blur out... what so ever. The chosen topic and its descendants (and maybe the mother topic) will stand out.
I simulated it in a
pdf (600 kb). Page one will show all of the map and page two will show, what will happen, if you chose "orange". This is exelent for presentations and should not be to hard to be implemented...
This and the ability to capture slides (as in ConceptDraw Project!), will make a nice way to make MindMaps a powerfull tool for presentations.
Hello Gerhard,
We've Drill Down in a backlog, and it's going to be implemented. Unfortunately, not sure how soon:)
Let's continue.
1. Automatically set "Text background color" the same as mindmap's background when relations cross topics and sended to backward (if there is no text background color). Now even if relations are sended to backward it is hard to read topics that they cross, especially if relation color is darker then topic's text.
2. Ability to combine two or more topics into one. I mean this:
____ TOPIC ____
/-------------===---\
---------===-------------TOPIC
\____ TOPIC ____/
3. The same ability won't be excess for relations:
--------__________ TOPIC____________ TOPIC
-------/-----------------------/
TOPIC-------------------------------------------------- TOPIC
-------------------------------\____________________TOPIC
(here relations are showed)
4. Automatically resize pictures - now too large pictures transcend topic's border. Plus ability to resize pictures using drag&drop picture borders)
And two improvements:
a. Adding callout topic changes positions of adjacent topics. But when I move callout topic to another place topics do not move to initial positions.
b. When I make a mistake in note's text programm highlights it. I press Backspace, correct mistake and continue wrighting - highlight doesn't disappear. When I finish wrighting I go to another topic and when I go back to previous topic programm still highlights a word. It only takes one click to any position of note - only now highlight disappear.
One more: items in page context menu in Page Navigator:
- Copy to new MindMap
- Move to new MindMap
