Full Version: macos x intel issues?

I just downloaded the demo and am trying to run it on MacOS X (latest version) - specifically the LAN scan command.  The window comes up but it only seems to find 1 device and after a loooong while (more than 20 minutes) I give up and press the stop button.  At that point the application seems to hang or at least the scan seems to hang (the dialog stays up with a message that says something like "wait until the dialog is finished" and I have to force-quit the application to get out (after waiting another five minutes just to see if it will exit on its own).

I'm running this on an MacBook Pro (Intel) and I'm wondering if the PPC emulation is an issue at all.  The LAN itself is about 22 nodes on a switch connected to a router - a flat class C network.  So it's pretty basic.
LAN Scanner can not work on some Macs.
We will fix the problem in several months. You can try to make it work on PC emulator. So far it helped.

Best regards,
Thanks Natalie, I will try the Windows version w/an emulator.

Cheers,

Charles

Dear Charles

Thank you for understanding!

Have a happy Easter!
Hi, all on this thread - read the comment below - and am a bit disturbed - the major value proposition of a Network Diagrammer would be to "read the network" - any "ETA"? (expected time of arrival)

We could use XP/Vista in a virtual machine, as some others on this thread have proposed, but that would introduce a new cost and process for our project and overall infrastructure. We are all OS X - some 36 host systems to include RADIUS, Mail, DNS, web and related library and patron services.

We have a immediate need of the scanning function for our community wireless project - we really wanted to avoid hand drawing everyone's home network - so they can appreciate the relationship of a wireless gateway to the paraphernalia they have/want to include in the mix of things. Since we are not "signing up" to support their home/SOHO network, we know it will help to communicate the scope they are taking on. (It's what libraries do: help awareness)

Hello George.
Unfortunately, no 'ETA'.

You can download the Trial version ond see if it will work for you:
for Mac:

for PC:

Best regards!
Well, Natalie,
I could do that, but it probably would be redundant - I actually bought a copy.

I guess you could say that I'm committed Icon_wink

Nearly two months – any movement on resolution, Natalie?
Perhaps the pragmatic solution is to provide the windows version, since the Mac version has never worked anyway.

Hello George,

The fix is relayed to autumn and I will surely give you a copy for Windows if you send me your Order Number in private.

Sincerely yours,
Natalya
