Hi. Is there a supplied dictionary with Mindmap Pro 5.2.2? When I am typing in an entry, words seem to be highlighted with spelling mistakes, but when I hit F7 to spell check, every word needs to be "added" to the user dictionary. Weird!
Hello djinoz,
You need to turn on dictionary in MINDMAP
Please do the following:
Edit-> Preferences-> Speling-> and choose the dictionary you need.

Anna I would just like the dictionary to work. I am a mac user (Leopard) with the latest version of mindmap and have been a little dissapointed.
-Its crashers continually when I am trying to use the inspector on a connected map.
-The dictionary goes through and checks the spelling but when I highlight the word that I want and click change, it just ignores it and goes to the next. Can you help?
-Is there a way to search the clip art instead of going through it category by category looking for something?
Thank you
Hello,
we will check out what is the problem with dictionary, as for your last question, you an easily create different clipart of your own.
Or you can search for the needed picture (symbol) in the web,
add it into the folder with standard clipart galleries
and then use them for your maps.
If you have more questions you can use my e-mail address:

Hi,
under edit menu, there isn't a preferences option, this is under the file menu and I cannot see a choose dictionary option (in my previous post I mentioned I was a mac user, Leopard OS). I am still having problems with it not checking the spelling. Or rather it checks the spelling, but then after I have selected the correct word, it doesn't then go on to substitute this word for the incorrect one. please please let me if I am doing something wrong or the software is at fault.
Cheers
Hi all,
I guess, there is a great deal of discrepancy in this discussion. Lets clear it up a little:

There is
no preferences under edit menu! But you will find Edit/Spelling. You will find 3 options in it:
- Check spelling as you type
If this is marked, words not found in the chosen dictionary will be underlined with red. (I could not live without!)
- Check Spelling [Apple];
The cursor will jump from a misspelled word to the next.
- Spelling... [Apple]:
This is the one you look for! If you open Spelling..., you will see in the bottom the chosen dictionary and you can change it into any one you like. But...

...it will work different to the standard spell checker you know from your mac system. I guess, there is a bug in it — no wonder, you have problems using it! :!
If you check the spelling on your mind map with [Apple]: and a misspelled word is found, the word will be shown in the top left corner and beneath it a word (or a list of words will be offered) to correct it. So far so good!
If there is only one word in the list, ConceptDraw MindMap will highlight it with a grey background. If you now hit the change button, the word will not be changed! In fact ConceptDraw MindMap will always take the writing in the top left corner to enter it in your map...
This is different to the behaviour of your leopard system! In leopard, if a word of the list will be highlighted with a grey background and you hit the change button, the word highlighted in the list will be used in you writing! But highlighting is normally seen, when checking for grammar error!
And if there is only one word found for correcting a spelling error, you have to mark that word with a mouse click to choose is.
fastbikerwilko:
For the time being: Hit ones in the list field, then choose the word with the correct spelling and if you hit the change button, the corrected word will be in your map!
Anna:
Check it out e.g. in Safari or any other apps of leopard and tell you programmer:
There is work to be done :-)
