Well - after i I saw the that a new version of CDPro was released i thought id give it a try ....
Honestly ...... compared to the ton of other (and in most cases "lighter") tools for the mac out there, Concept Draw 7 has the worst interface ever ....
Despite the fact that i couldnt find a possibility to NOT zoom into the Doc when double clicking an object - i must say that the "floating" object property boxes are anything but usable .....
Really i hoped that CDPro had evolved but the new interface gives you nothing but the so much hated "MS Office Feeling".
Why no learn from steadily growing experience in interface design and overall software look but chose to create something that looks like an app that has been converted from Windows 2000 ??
Deeply disappointed ....
Quote:"Lightweight" also means poor functionality.
Ok, so you consider focus to be a "poor" approach - got that.
Quote:ConceptDraw 7 has an
optimal ratio of interface difficulty to it's huge functionality options.
In fact, ConceptDraw 7 meets the Apple Human Interface Guide requirements.
Oh I agree - what a vast amount of functionality ! The problem only is - it meets Apple´s HIG - nothing else .... no innovation whatsoever ...
Quote:Zoom into doc works till 100% of zoom. Inspectors are quite standard and regarding to other feedbacks - useful.
Hey come on - they´re just cluttering the workspace - go learn from any iWork or Adobe app !
Quote:Despite the fact that ConceptDraw is an office application there is nothing similar. Or give us an illustration.
Fun - I said "MS Office" - and no - you dont want people to develop attitude to your apps that matches the one users have to MS Office.
Quote:We are learning and developing everyday. Our UI design experience is quite good to say that there is absolutely nothing common with Windows 2000. Also give us a screen-short, illustrating any similarity.
Concept Draw Pro 7 feels and acts like applications i was used to 5 10 years ago. It does not enhance productivity - its learning curve (even in comparison with it´s predecessors) is steeper than ever .....
WHY ?
Other apps dont have that vast amount of functionaly - but - and that´s where CPPro 7 fails - they´re innovative - they offer intuitive ways of working and greatly accessible interfaces.
Take a look at the "poor" apps ......
They´re miles ahead in productivity and workflow ....
And worst of it all is - theyre fun to use ....

Oh - there´s one more thing !
Stop defending yourself in your own public company forums - it harms your credibility.
Instead start listening to the user´s suggestions. Your reply only caused me to like your products even less ;)

well, all i can say is that if you don't like it do not use it,for somebody this "Awefull User Interface" look's nice, and if you are a specialist in that kind of soft it doesnt metter what interface soft has!
You´re right - i already noticed the "Go away if you dont like our products" attitude ;)

Completely disagree. I liked the way CDPro "feels and acts". It has very intuitive interface that doesn't irritates my eyes.

Applications you've mentioned don't have half functionality of CDPro 7. They can't compete with CDPro if we talking about professional using. But if you want just "fun to use", use Paint
Quote:if you are a specialist in that kind of soft it doesnt metter what interface soft has!
Actually, it does. And CDPro has best appropriated interface ;)

So..whats your point?
You tried some project and CDPro wasnt able to fulfill your needs?
I guess its not true...
Btw..info from main site :"is a powerful diagramming and drawing tool that enables you to
effectively visualize and communicate information and processes."...etc
And believe me it does..it always helps me to finish my projects in time, plus ..be sure that my Boss wont get any trouble while looking at it..ps:your so called "MS Office Feeling"..also suits me much with that)))
Anyway I can understand some of your concern about the interface..
But man ..I think you just need more practice with that, and dont tell me your first week on other tools* went so great;)

It seems to me that you are the one with the attitude.
In spite of your gratuitous attack you got a polite and professional response.
The only thing I dont understand is why you came here to rant?
Surely if you hate CD that much the sane response would have been to go and find something that you do like?
I'm not 100% thrilled with the user interface, but I consider it pretty good for a complex application. And the new context-sensitive help makes it MUCH easier to learn. Once you learn the interface, its pretty efficient, I think. Much like Adobe CS3 apps, there's just a lot to learn, but once you get past the learning curve it all works pretty well, I think.
The thing I like best about ConceptDraw, actually, is the CS Odessa support staff. I think the support they provide here and via e-mail is MUCH better than typical these days; they are very polite, knowledgeable, and truly try and help find solutions to problems.
I am new to Conceptdraw, but it is as easy to use as Visio and although Visio has a slick look interface, Conceptdraw is a lot more powerful, selecting one element from the package (Mind Mapping) is not a fair comparison.
Try out some of the other tasks you will be amazed what can be ahieved, it not how a program looks it's what it can do that's important.
