Hi,

I need to plan a project with shift workers. Some are working 2 shifts (6-14, 14-22) and some 3 shifts a day (6-14, 14-22, 22-6). Is there a way to arrange the personal calendar to reflect this weekly changing working hours?

Hi there Gerhard,

I'm not having a solution for your question but I agree that the Calendar needs some rework... Sometimes I think there is a lack of flexibility but I have to dig into this to make my needs more clear to the developers... Actually I would prefer to have the same (re)scheduling options as within iCal or Outlook including time schedules...

Hi Franc,

I thought, I'd ask first, whether there is such a functionality and I'm not seeing it, before I asked for new functions. :)

Version 4.0 is just released and I benefit a great deal from the improved functions... on the other hand: OCS is constantly looking for the needs of their users. I guess it is the best time, to think about new ideas!

This was my thought, when I first started with ConceptDraw Project and looked at the calendar... but not exactly.

iCal has the same 2 Borders as all other calendars have: Daytime and Weekdays! In my firm we have a 30h circle per day, just to reflect the working time from 6 to 6. If different shift systems are in progress, calendar programs have a hard time to keep up with it. e.g. 1. week, you work from 14-22 h on mo. until fr. and on sa. from 14-20 h; 2 Week, you work from 6-14 h on mo. until sa.; 3. week, you work from 20-mo. 6 h on so. and from 22-6 h on mo. until di.; 4. week, you work from 22-6 on we. until fr.
This is one shift system, recurring every 4 weeks and must be representable on a calendar. Both borders must be permeable: Starting time of a day and starting day of the week.

And with such a functionality of the calendar, iCal can not cope with, but ConceptDraw should... at least in one of the next versions ;)
