I am one of the few mac users in a company that is predomantly windows. I get visio .vsd files several times a week that I can not open on the mac. I end up logging into someones PC and converting them to some other format and sending them back to myself. In addition we have large data bases that contain old .vsd files for process diagrams.

My question is this. Will ConceptDraw open .vsd files or not?

han810m,

To import your Visio files use Import feature:
menu File-> Import-> XML for Visio..

You can import only vdx files (it don't support vsd). To save files in VDX in Visio use:
menu File-> Save As

Visio stencils can be imported too:
1. In Visio save your stencils as XML drawing:
menu File-> Save As: XML Drawing (*.vdx)
2. Import them.

If you don't have access to Visio use on-line conversion service (to
XML format):
http://www.conceptdraw.com/en/visio/

ConceptDraw also has export to Visio XML feature:
menu File-> Export-> XML for Visio

We wish you Happy New Year Icon_wink

Julia, thank you for the prompt answer.

I will try the conversion service and ask my co-workers who use Viso to save documents in the .vdx format.

Mike,
good Icon_smile
I'll be waiting for your comments.

So when I import the .vdx nothing shows up, it appears to import but no document actually shows up? These documents are .vdx but Visio 2003, no one really uses 2002 anymore.
Hi!
Any chance for future versions will be able to open .vsd files?
I work as a consultant (using MAC) and get loads of viso files in .vsd formats from vendors and clients and its very difficult to "demand" to get files in .vdx format.

Dear obgod3,
I think that you got first blank page.

Sometimes CD6 makes first blank page - in this way look in the pages for your document. To delete blank page use menu Page-> Delete

Please check for pages. To delete unnecessary page use: menu Page-> delete

Dear Steen,
I can't tell you now if there is .vsd convertion.
Do you use our on-line conversion service?

Dear Julia,
Tried twice but each time the converted file came back with errors...
Might be my internet link - I will try again...

What errors - you couldn't open them in ConceptDraw or just corrupted file?
