I'm trying to paste text from any application (doesn't matter to me which at the moment) and retain at least the line breaks. When I paste I just get a giant block of text with no line breaks whatsoever, which is fairly useless to me. Ideas??

Additionally, I've discovered that if I import the text as an outline text file (which is extremely cumbersome, incidentally), I get line breaks, but as soon as I try to copy the text, the application crashes. The text DOES copy (it's in the clipboard), but immediately thereafter the app crashes.
I'm on the latest version for Mac, by the way.
Edit to add: freakishly, it only copies SOME of the text if the text is long. And when it pastes it does very strange things.

Just create an object on the page and paste your text there.Then you will be able to make any changes inside the text (line breaks also).

Oh yes, believe me, that's what I was doing. It turns out that it wasn't registering the line breaks from *specific applications* (OpenOffice and BBEdit, in this case), while it WILL take the line breaks from TextEdit. You might want to look into that - it's definitely a bug
