Hello,
Is the CD project team considering adding an option for setting a project "baseline" which can be shown graphically on the gnatt chart? As far as I know, I don't think this is currently possible.
I'm sure you are familiar with the concept, but the idea is once you have your project tasks and timeline defined you can set the baseline (i.e., a timeline 'snap shot'). Then if a task slips or starts early it is easy to see the changes on the gnatt chart - the shift/slip is shaded in gray, for example.
The way it works now once you change the start or completion date of a task, you can't tell if the task is ahead or behind the original timeline/schedule - which you may have published.
You should of course be able to reset the baseline at any time - perhaps at the individual task level as well as the whole project level. I've seen this feature on some of the competition and think it would be a great feature to have in CD Project!
Thoughts?
Thanks,
Jim
