If I add a new task in a Gnatt chart, then immediately start typing in the name of the task (not using the Inspector) the first letter I type appears in the task name but disappears as I type the second letter which also then disappears and the name of the task starts with the third letter I type.
Hello Jim,
Please highlight the task name with double mouseclick (or double Space - system) and it will work perfectly!
Best regards,
The problem is that this requires hand movement over to the mouse (or in my case picking up a pen as I use a graphics tablet) and that slows down the entry of data.
What about double click on the Space button on your keyboard?
Hi Natalya,
Natalie Wrote:What about double click on the Space button on your keyboard?
that is the way I use is: Return for creating a new task and twice space, before I can enter the task name.
But Jim is right. Sometimes I do not think about using space two times, my team is reading "eme" when they should read "Theme"... even if you realise that the first letter was not typed, the second one will show until you type another one. "heme" looks not better than "eme"...
It is a bug and it should be repaired in the next future.
Hello Gerhard,
Do you mean that it should open at one Space click (there should be some 'hot' key, after all)?
Are there any opinions of our Community members about that?
Every idea would be appreciated!
Thank you!

yes and no... I like the way to open the editing field with any character or digit, but that is not the main issue.
Problem is the missing letter, if you write text into an task. eg. You create a new task by hitting return. And you would like to name the task "Friends of Carlotta", what will heppen? With the "F" you will open the editing field. The "r" will be the first character shown in the field, but mask... so the next entry will eliminate the entry. After tiping the hole frace in the field, the field will show "iends of Carlotta"
I would like to see, that ConceptDraw Project 3.x will take the opening character and fill it into the editing field with no masking at all. If you than type the "F" to enter, "F" will be written in it. And so after the return you can write the name of the task and it will show in full length: "Friends of Carlotta".
