Full Version: Integration ConceptDraw VI lost?

I was working on a document in my (newly licensed!) MM5, which I wanted to extend on in ConceptDraw Pro VI.

But unlike MM4.5, there does not seem to be an integration between those two anymore. Am I overlooking something? Will CD 7 solve this?

Thanks!

Mirko
Mirko, tell me what exactly did you want to do with the Map in ConceptDraw?
Right now I am just experimenting. But previously I would do some final editing in CDVI to prepare a poster, by adding other graphical elements (mostly chem structures) using CDVI libraries.
Actually we are not planning thhis integration in the new version, but in future releases we try to find something out.

And right now I can propose you the next solutuion:
you can save those graphical elements that you need as pictures. Then in MindMap open
Clipart window, there choose "Switch to picture view", open the folder with your pictures and add them into your map.
Moreover you can create you own clipart. You just have to create a folder in
C:\Program Files\CS Odessa\ConceptDraw MINDMAP Professional\Clipart\
and add there your own objects, but those have to be only .png - files.

Hope this helps.
Don't hesitate to contact me with any queries.
No problem. Just my odd workflow. It actually started because the previous iterations of the CD apps all used the same file extension, and I accidentally opened a mindmap in ConceptDraw Pro, and then turned a glitch into an undocumented feature.....
Hi Mirko, the thing is that with these new releases we totally changed all theree products. That's why everything works in different way now.
I appreciate the changes, and I applaud them!

That said, in preparation for a discussion meeting I found that I do miss the ability to make the final presentation custom through CD 7.

Would it be possible to implement a Export to CD XML or something like that?

Alternatively: if the export to Powerpoint would allow the different graphical elements to be editable (i.e. delete a block, etc.) that would suit my immediate needs as well.

Thanks!
I am curious; is integration restored under the new suite?

It seems like this would be critical for a suite.

When I first looked I wondered why Draw and MindMap. Seemed redundant, but now I see the difference, but lacking integration seems shortsighted.

All three apps should be integrated in anyway that makes any sense, IMHO.
